I’m genuinely considering cancelling all my plans for the week so I can just binge this series.

I liked book 1 sliiiightly more just because it felt like it moved faster. In this book the romance gets a bit more interrupted with external things going on (that said, I am loving the overarching plot, it’s compelling and a great setting for the individual stories).

I loved the characters just as much as the first book - and the few interactions our new couple has with Jade and Theo were really cute. I loved Jade telling Theo off and then trying to explain human women to him.

I really hope we get to see more of Daisy and Izo too, they are adorable.

I didn’t love this one like I did the first. It was still a very well written book with even more world building, but it was just a lot slower. There was instant fated mates, which is fun, but then it heavily relied on miscommunication, and not the language barrier kind. It’s worth the read to finish out the series, but it’s not going to keep you up late to finish it out of excitement.

This was such a disappointment coming right on the heels of the first book in this series. It's mostly a me thing; the miscommunication trope is my least favourite plot device and that's basically the only thing keeping the couple apart from about the 20% mark. I also greatly disliked the smut scenes and how they were written, and the complete personality 180 of the fmc, Alice. It is still really well written, and I love this world. I am just hoping the next book redeems the series for me.

A perfect palate cleanser! I love the concept of this story and world, perfect amount of spice and solid plot!
