This was a wild ride. It’s crazy how much unique worldbuilding and characterization was accomplished in the span of 50 pages. I’m also always so impressed how everything Tamsyn Muir writes has you going “what???” until the very end, where suddenly everything clicks into place all at once. Muir is truly a master of this. Also always a big fan of Muir’s commitment to writing horrible lesbians. I love you, horrible lesbians.

This story was so gross and I really enjoyed it.

Late-stage worldbuilding usually does not work for me, but Tamsyn Muir always manages to pull it off so sickeningly. The moment of all the pieces clicking into place is truly horrific every time.

Ok this is good! This is my second favorite in the series so far! Amy Starr is an undercover cop infiltrating a crime ring in a dystopian world. This novella is chalk full of character, gore, surprises, and world building. Muir packs a punch in less than 60 pages. Although it falls a little short character development wise and leaves a little confusion about the world/environment (when/where/how etc.) the content we are given is creative and engaging. Definitely a solid 60 page read!
