Late-stage worldbuilding usually does not work for me, but Tamsyn Muir always manages to pull it off so sickeningly. The moment of all the pieces clicking into place is truly horrific every time.

Ok this is good! This is my second favorite in the series so far! Amy Starr is an undercover cop infiltrating a crime ring in a dystopian world. This novella is chalk full of character, gore, surprises, and world building. Muir packs a punch in less than 60 pages. Although it falls a little short character development wise and leaves a little confusion about the world/environment (when/where/how etc.) the content we are given is creative and engaging. Definitely a solid 60 page read!

Tamsyn Muir did it again. Her writing, as always, sucked me right into the story, even though, as always, I was confused for about 80% of the book. That doesn’t take away from the fun and gory action though.
Deadly & obsessive lesbians and plot twists you don’t see coming. What more can you wish for?
