This book wrecked my nerves in the best way possible. I don’t think I took a full breath the entire time I was reading it. Fifty Fifty is the definition of a perfect whodunit: two sisters, one murdered father, and an unrelenting courtroom drama where both women point the finger at each other. Cavanagh masterfully plays with perception and tension—just when I thought I had it figured out, another twist dropped and flipped everything upside down.
The pacing is razor sharp, the courtroom scenes are brilliantly written, and the psychological manipulation will have your anxiety spiking (in a good way!). I pride myself on guessing twists, but this one? No chance. Absolutely unputdownable.
A legal thriller that messes with your mind and keeps you questioning everyone’s truth—HIGHLY recommend if you love a fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat mystery with zero filler.

Absolutely incredible! I dare say, this might be even better than Th1rt3en… yes, yes I do! I was hooked from the very beginning to the last page. I was convinced I had figured out which sister was behind it all, picking up on the subtle clues Cavanagh cleverly scattered throughout. But that final twist? Completely blindsided me and in the best diabolical way.
Eddie is quickly becoming one of my favorite fictional detectives. With his shady past and his determination to stay on the right path makes him such a relatable character. The dynamics between the characters were expertly done, and the mysterious “She” chapters added an extra layer of intrigue that kept me guessing and changing my mind on which sister was the killer. I will forever recommend this book, it was so brilliantly written and brilliantly executed!

Thank you to Atria Books and Steve Cavanagh for an e-arc of this book! This was such an interesting story, especially considering that this mystery starts out with only two potential murderers and has to keep the suspense from there. I became invested quickly, especially with the several perspectives on this legal thriller — including both defense counselors and the murderer. I thought it was really smart to title the murderer’s chapters “She” to keep greater anonymity and suspense. I loved how intricate the story was and I was kept guessing until the end! This is perfect for fans of the Lincoln Lawyer and Suits!! 4.25 🌟

Wow! What an ending! This was a gripping read though it has taken me a while to read as it was very gruesome. Very well written between characters and it kept me guessing until the end.

This was another excellent addition to a fabulous series. I loved not knowing which sister was the “she” POV throughout as it really kept me guessing. Eddie’s moral compass continues to steer him in the right direction in this one, as he takes on the sister he believes to be innocent and does everything he can to go against the prosecution and not the other sister. We are introduced to characters who pop up later in the series (what I get to reading WITNESS 8 early) so it was nice to see how familiar faces joined the team. I’ve got THE DEVIL’S ADVOCATE up next!

Another smart and twisty thriller by Steve Cavanagh! Every book I read by him further cements him as one of my absolute favorite thriller authors.
Alexandra and Sofia are sisters on trial for the murder of their father. Odds are 50/50… Will the right sister be convicted?
I love the way Cavanagh creates characters that are as well developed and thoughtful as his storylines. There is depth and emotion that goes further than the suspense, anticipation, and butterflies in the tummy that you expect from a thriller… but that’s all there too!
Eddie Flynn is a favorite MMC of mine and this novel just solidified that even further. But really, Kate was the shining star in this one for me. Getting to know the roots of her character, watching her stand her ground against shitty men (gimme all that feminine rage please), and seeing her growth as this novel went on was perfection. Cavanagh does a really commendable job writing both male and female characters in a realistic and respectful way.
This is my second book from the Eddie Flynn series and certainly won’t be my last.
🎧 Adam Sims is absolute perfection in his narration of this series. He brings the characters to life and keeps the emotion and suspense palpable. As long as he keeps narrating, I will keep reading these with both my ears and eyes.

This was another great book in the Eddie Flynn series. Two sisters on trial for their father’s murder and they are both pointing their finger at the other one as the real murderer. The story was gripping and full of twists. There were chapters from various characters’ viewpoint. I especially liked the chapters from the murderer’s perspective that left me guessing whose head I was in. Overall, this was a great read.

When two sisters each call 911 reporting the other has brutally murdered their father, who is to be believed?
I have never picked up an Eddie Flynn novel but found this to be an easy transition into this series. Eddie was a great protagonist and the twists in this novel kept me on the edge of my seat! The reveals were satisfying and I’m very interested in continuing on in this series.
Highly recommend to fans of legal thrillers!
