Highly recommended. The title is very misleading. The book isn't about artists YOU should listen to, it's about artists that have made a big enough impression on the author that he drew and wrote about each one. Visual art and music writing, both at once.

I'd rate this more than five stars if I could - the incredible artwork itself makes the book worth picking up.

A great idea, with some lovely (if somewhat samey) illustrations and presentation. I obviously don't agree with all his choices but I love anyone talking about the things they love, and it's almost impossible to come away without wanting to try some artists you're not familiar with, retry some you weren't keen on, and ultimately make your own version of the list.

The artwork was cool, but overall too patriotic and white for my taste. Also kinda weird that one of the artists is literally just all of “Bollywood”. Also that he would pretend to be Nigerian when listening to rap. Open to discourse. 🤔

I adore the illustrations. I'd love to see this guy reimagine a Tarot deck. The entries / descriptions are entertaining and insightful. I knocked off a star for the bunch of artists that I have listened to before I die, and I wish that I hadn't bothered.
