Interesting plot and character but the paint-brush narrative style is not my favorite.

Boring and predictable. There's nothing romantic about the situation, Garrett is uninteresting, and there's no real spark between the two.

It was a very sad book. First it was very easy to find the mystery man who has written the letters. I said: "Are u kidding me? that was easy!" Then it was a typical lovestory.... I just gave 4* because the letters where all very thrilling. I cried by each letter. My favorite was the one from Garrett to Theresa.

The end was good because there was no Happy Ending... I don't know why but I kinda like books without happy endings... Is this Crazy?

The ending of this story came to me as a surprise. I'm not expecting that kind of ending.. :'(

I love the story but I'm not sure if I'm going to read another Nicholas Sparks' novel because I think those novels would put tears in my eyes again! And I don't like that! I'm into happy ending novels! :D

This kind of stories remind me of Korean movies! The one that make you smile and fall in love on the first part but tear your heart out on the second part.I just felt like I'm the one who got broken-hearted.. :(

But still, the story is very inspiring.. Well it's better to love and lost than to never feel love at all..

With Nicholas Sparks you can count on two things, great writing and loads of drama! His books are an emotional roller-coaster that rarely end with a happy ever after! They are draining in a good way! very cathartic!

I am a native North Carolinian and lived in Wilmington for 4 years. This book may seem a little slow paced for some, but I think it beautifully paints the story of an intense long-distance relationship. I recently ended a long-distance relationship and this book described the emotions I experienced in that relationship so well. It captures the agony and stretch of time between visits. I highly recommend.
