emotional hopeful sad medium-paced

A classic Nicolas Sparks novel. I had seen the movie first so most of the mystery was lost but I enjoyed the way the story was told especially the flash backs to the memories of Catherine.

So beautifully written and so much stress came from it. I don't usually get all mushy from romance novels but this one felt real and I will admit I teared up a little towards the end for reasons I shall not spoil :')

I'm highly against sappiness and a lot of other things that Nicholas Sparks' novels represent. I don't read Nicholas Sparks or romance novels regularly and don't even recall why I had this book in my possession. I've seen a good number of the movies and I cringe during a lot of what I deem unnecessarily cheesy scenes/lines and sometimes I cringe throughout the entire film... (I'm looking at you Dear John).

My boyfriend is forever shaking his head at me, though, because Nicholas Sparks, that son of a monkey, still gets to me. I'm not a huge fan of his work, but I have to admit that some of the novels can be pretty heart wrenching (e.g. A Walk To Remember).

What I'm saying is... yes, this book made me cry. Sh.

This book was a great one, in my opinion. I don't really reach for romance novels but this made me hungry for more. I was also in the airport when I read the sad parts so I couldn't cry, but if I was alone I probably would have!

One of my favorites by Nicholas Sparks (so far)!! It's a beautiful, inspirational love story. I loved the ending, for it was bittersweet yet hopeful. I really loved Theresa's letter to Garrett. It was pretty sad, but it makes you realize how powerful love is. I believe in fate and that everything happens for a reason, and this book only confirms that. And it definitely makes me want to send a message in a bottle, not for love, but just for the experience! Or to find a bottle would be equally as amazing. I teared up at the end and probably would have full-out cried if I'd been alone. I think all romantics should read it. It was a very quick and enjoyable read, and I'm sure I'll read it again...can't wait to see the movie finally!

I struggled through the first half of the book thinking there was something good in store for me at the end (I know. A Nicholas Sparks book? I should've known better). Needless to say, the last several chapters had my eyes wide and I felt personally betrayed by how the book concluded. Oh, well.

One of my favorite by him! Grab the tissue box for this one!

Entertaining but too cheesy for me.

Probably the best novels ever written by Sparks.
If you love a good cry, I recommend for you to read this book.
It is lovely with an unexpected twisted turn.
Definately a must-read.
Not your typical happy-ending.
