SPOILER ALERT
We meet innocent, country girl, Abbi and she's just accepted the offer of a lifetime... to work at Wolf Hotel's new opening in Alaska. She accepts the job to get away from her ex fiance who cheated on her even though they both were saving themselves for marriage. The ex and the whole town, including her family, think that she just needs to keep waiting around while Jed (the ex fiance) works through these temptations and needs to get it out of his system. She decides a big hell no on that (thank god) and moves away to Alaska for the summer to start fresh. Shortly into her new adventure, she finds out she's actually hand selected to be personal assistant to the seriously hot, rich, demanding owner, Henry Wolf, and the story takes off from there.
I think there is SO MUCH chemistry between Henry and Abbi. I love that Abbi's innocence is taken into a different perspective. Also, Abbi is seriously witty and I find myself laughing out loud at her comments. Henry is the perfect big, bad CEO type of character and you just have to love him and his sexy grumpiness. The spice is great. I'm going to rate it 1.5 chilis because I know it's just going to keep getting better. We had a bit of a slow burn in this one which was totally worth it.
The reason I wrote Spoiler Alert at the beginning is because I need to say something about this ending. I absolutely adored the book up until the ending. Abbi "found out" about the rape charges his jaded ex-assistant is trying to charge him with... which sounds fine except for that we know that Henry did not rape her... I don't understand why this comes as such a big shock to Abbi and that she takes this as relationship-ending news. I don't buy it. We knew about it! So, that's the only part that made me mad but I sure as hell am picking up the rest of these books. Hopefully the endings have better cliffhangers in the next books.
