I read this based on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s recommendation. The book itself did not disappoint. That American women have fewer rights now in 2022, than when this book was originally published (1991) is shameful.

The most depressing thing about this book is how we are still facing many of the same struggles today as women did in the 1980s. The best thing about this book was the incremental gains we’ve made in the meantime.

I read this in high school, and it became the backbone of THREE of my research papers afterward.
