Interesting retelling
It took me a long time to get through this book, I kept starting and stopping and starting again.
In the end, I actually really enjoyed the book, I just wish it had been more captivating and that I didnt have such a hard time getting into it.
The characters were frustrating and didnt grow as much as they could have. The writing style was confusing at time, and it was hard to keep track of who was who.
Overall a good story, and I would probably read more from this author

Just did not flow very well - felt like reading for the sake of it. A shame really because I really wanted to enjoy this. Not sure even how it could be considered a retelling!

This book started well and very quickly went downhill when it started reaching for more threads than it knew what to do with. I would class this as a very loose retelling of the Little Mermaid as it immediately busies itself with too much court intrigue to make much headway. The character’s motivations are inconsistent and no-one seems to know to not cheat on their partners bar one character.
