I want to know more......

This story was different from the start. I like how this was not your typical love story. At first I was a little taken aback by the content. Once you get past it and see beyond it, its a new take on the average love story. I really like how this story makes you realize that you really can't help how you love.

Gav is not you typical romance book boyfriend, that is for sure. He seems to have it all, looks, money, and charm. Until you find out his secret. I really like how he is total different when it comes to Kat. He is the one that is taken aback by Kat and she doesn't even know it.

Kat is an everyday, boring girl that is trying to get through life. Until that fateful kiss in the elevator. Then she gets a whim and decides she does not want to be boring anymore. Man what she is for the shock of her life. I really like how they seemed to complement each other in the end.

this is one of those books that makes me question all my life decisions that got me to the point of reading serial killer romance books but whatever,, though i think this guy was morally better than most guys in real life he just happened to like killing abusers and pedophiles and i respect that immensely.
besides the tiny moral dilemma this book gave me, i really enjoyed this book, the characters, and the exploration of trauma and issues around suicide/self-harm. it didn't feel romanticizing to me which was good and was also really well written and compulsively readable. would recommend

Warning: This may have some spoilers :P

I finished with this book at almost 2 a.m. and I was speechless. Honest to all that it's holy that I didn't know how to express myself about what I've just listened too. One word kept going on and on in my head, like a broken record and it was the first out of my mouth: magnificent.

Kat it's a normal girl that it's going to college, has a car and works at a library. See? Pretty normal and kind of boring. That's why her friend dare her, one day, to kiss the first man she feel attracted to... and she does, but she kept it a secret because she asked the guy out and he said he was not interested. She didn't have a clue that the same guy she kissed and kissed her back so passionately, was dangerous... ticking bomb dangerous.

Gav it's a man with many layers and darkness inside that leaks sometimes and try to drive him mad, but he found a way to stop the darkness from taking over. The Shadow, as he called it, must be feed with blood. What he didn't know was the girl that kissed him in the elevator was going to be His.

Let me tell you this is NOT a book for the faints of heart because let me tell you, there are some details in this book that will make your skin crawl if you're are not able to stomach them... mainly torture and blood... and pain.

When I started listening to this in the audio version I was fascinated. I have a dark mind sometimes and this feed that part of my imagination pretty well. I have read other book with dark themes on them but this was just... no words. Why? I can't even explain it correctly.

Stockholm syndrome in one of the finest ways, I dare to say. Even thou that was kind of out there to the world to see, I felt like the characters where so well thought out and have dept to them. I don't know if I would have had the same reaction if I was only reading the book in my kindle but since I got the audio version...

One more thing. Those last 45 to 30 minutes of the audio where just mind blowing and I have to express that I kind of have a crazy envy to for the author because the way she described what was happening was amazing. So vivid!

Gav & Kat

This book is the first book in the Dark Romance series by Aubrey Dark. It was pretty interesting but also a little boring to me.

In the beginning, it made me cringe soooo much.

description

What I didn't like in the beginning:

1. The conversation between Jules and Kat was lame to me. Jules keeps calling Kat boring because she doesn't have sex so she makes her kiss the first random beautiful dude she sees next, which, of course, is Gav. How they met was fun and all but the conversation at the beginning, being boring just because you don't have sex was meh.

2. The fact that Kat follows Gav home. GAH! That really made me cringe and want to just put the kindle down and stop reading this book. I mean you don't have the guts to go in the library, where you work and feel safe, to give him "the so important note he dropped" but you do have the guts to follow an unknown person home and sneak on his property and spy when you hear something strange coming from his house. Really? REALLY?! It felt way too forced I didn't like it at all... sorry, not sorry.

3. 20% or something like that into the book she has a moment when she says that she thought he has feelings for her and felt a change. Where? I didn't see where and why but whatever.

What I liked:

1. The sex scenes were ok. Still, I didn't feel a chemistry between the two of them. Again felt a little forced but it was ok, hence the two stars I gave this book.

I am not sure if I will continue this series, maybe if I am really bored and got nothing else to read...I don't know yet.
