This book was low key infuriating. Not very believable and so predictable that it was a little unpredictable because I didnt think it would be that obvious. I kept thinking that it'd be a really good ending if the villian became Ivy. I kept expecting it to get better but the ending was horrible. Honestly wouldn't recommend this book, but the writing was decent if the plot had been better and if the characters besides Ivy were more developed.

Where do I start… I got this book at barnes and noble hoping for s good new mystery. The plot was interesting, but kind of cliche. The main issue with this book is the pacing.. it’s extremely slow for the majority of the book and EXTREMELY fast in the last 2-3 chapters.  The ending is quite honestly, awful and not hopeful in the least. I don’t mind s sad ending, but this ends with the main character’s whole goal flushed down the toilet. When reading the last few chapters I literally checked online to see if there was a printing mistake in my copy, if the real ending was cut out by accident. After realizing there was no mistake, I looked for a sequel online. There is none, and it just left me feeling like the author git bored of the book while writing it and just wanted to get it over with but not quit on it as she spent time writing the thing. The character is not relatable and is somewhat flat. I give this a 2 stars because it’s not bad writing, it’s just bad character development and honestly awful pacing. I wouldn’t recommend.

The Twin by Natasha Preston was just as suspenseful as her other novels, though still doesn’t nudge out the Fear as my favorite of Preston’s novels. I really enjoyed this creepy familial bond between Ivy and Iris, and their relationships with other characters felt natural. I thought that the pacing was good, and that the progression of events was believable and well thought out. This book also speaks to one of my greatest fears, which I can’t say without giving away the end so I won’t, but this helped add a little bit of extra unease to my reading experience (in a good way). Even though the ending was a bit predictable, I still enjoyed the overall story. If you’re looking for a teen thriller to add to your TBR, look no further

Amazing detail on how the killer’s plan. Loved Tyler in general, seems like a good boyfriend until the end. Suprisingly enough I did not guess the big plot twist but it didn’t shock me once i found out lol. Mid paced but I read it in 2 days.
