It’s hard to make S&S a modern story, but if you’ve read Pride & Protest, you know Nikki Payne has the skill. Bear is my favorite.

Being one of only 3 Black people in town and rebuilding an old inn with the hottest Indigenous man you’ve ever seen in your life? Doable. Probably. The instant chemistry between Nora and Bear is amazing. Bear needed to be more honest up front, that’s why I’m deducting stars but honestly still loved this book. I think it was a great take on Sense and Sensibility, it isn’t exact but it follows the general flow of the original and it’s very well done. And I do love how it all turned out, everyone got exactly what they needed, if not what they initially thought they wanted. I love Bear and I love Nora and I love them together. Chefs kiss.
