This was an interesting mystery novel. It reminded me of James Patterson's style of writing. I found the characters to be one dimensional and the dialogue a bit unrealistic. I was interested to see how the events turned out, and I wish the end had be fleshed out a bit more. If the author's goal was to leave the reader wanting more, she did just that, just not in the way I like. I would have given this three stars had the ending been more conclusive and the characters more realistic.

I enjoyed this book. Kal was a strong character and the pace of the story was strong. As the story unfolded it got more intense and the family secrets came out. Looking forward to more!

I have been reading a lot of Contemporary Romance novels lately, but I do like to mix it up a little. So when I received an invitation for the blog tour of ‘Good Girl Bad Girl’ I was excited to start reading. Although the cover didn’t really work for me, this book sounded very interesting and I definitely wanted to start reading as fast as I could.

‘Good Girl Bad Girl’ is the story of Kal. Kal is a photojournalist who is used to getting into dangerous situations to get to the best story. But when Kal’s mother suddenly disappears, Kal soon finds herself in an even more dangerous situation. Kal is determined to find her mother, and she soon does some discoveries that will change her life forever.

The first view chapters of ‘Good Girl Bad Girl’ started a little slow. The author really took the time to introduce the characters and the setting. But this wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. The writing was good enough to keep me hooked to the pages and make me forget about the slow start. Above all the writing just made me want to know what happened to Kal’s mother, and I really wanted to know more about the secrets in Kal’s family.

I really enjoyed reading about the main character Kal. Kal was a very strong character, and I was very interested in finding out more about her. Kal was definitely different than most characters I read abou. Kal has been trained in understanding the human psychology and this made for some very interesting chapters.
What I didn’t really like about this read was the ending. I found it very frustrating how much questions I still had after reading this book. But on the other hand this also makes me want to read more from Ann, so.. very smart. ;)

‘Good Girl Bad Girl’ is a very thrilling and interesting read that’s perfect for fans of thriller and mystery novels.

Couldn’t finish this book. I had a hard time getting into it. I guess it wasn’t what I thought it would be. If you like suspense and intrigue then you will probably like this book.

Well what can I say about this book I received this book for an honest review and I always believe that if I'm doing a review it has to be honest and how I felt about the book.
I did enjoy the book and how determined kal was to find her mum no matter what happened to her. Even having to face up to some hard truths about her family she is determined to do what she can. But when she is faced with a hard task of choosing between her mum and innocent life's she knew she had made the right choice. But how was she going to do it without being seen and caught is difficult.
Even through dealing with all her personal stuff and then something terrible happens to her best friend she still pushes herself and gets the job done. But even though she's done what's needed to be done she feels guilty about her best friend being caught in the crossfire and it's all comes back to her father.
If I had to rate this book it would 4/5 for me even thou I did enjoy it I found that it didn't pick up for me till I was 50% through it and then I felt it did miss bits out at some point and I couldn't quite grasped one bit at one point. But I would recommend this to others as it a good book and would try some others by this author myself.

I enjoyed reading Good Girl Bad Girl, it took me a little while to get into it but I did get invested in the story and really liked the ending, it wasn't what I was expecting. I liked Kal's character development as she learnt more about her past as the plot progressed, although I personally liked Marty's character a little more. I also enjoyed the little insights in martial arts and aspects of life in India as these are topics I know very little about. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good thriller.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author through Voracious Readers Only.

This review was part of the blog tour for Good Girl Bad Girl, you can find the original post along with an introduction to the main character on the original post https://chocolatenwafflesblog.wordpress.com/2016/08/11/blog-tour-good-girl-bad-girl-by-ann-girdharry/

When we are introduced to Kal Medi, she is just back from a mission abroad. But what’s on her mind isn’t the jet-lag or the thought of a relaxing bubble bath. Her mother is missing. Riddled with guilt for not having taken her mother’s last phone call seriously enough to come back earlier, Kal quickly understands her vanishing is linked to Alesha Medi’s work. Like mother, like daughter, Kal takes it upon herself to discover what happened and starts an investigation that will lead her across the world.

Combine psychology and action, add plane tickets and dark secrets, politics and the worst in men, and you get yourself a strong read. While Kal’s investigation to find her mother adds the thrill of the chase and a good dose of handwork, what drew me to this story was the psychological study of what is left of our upbringing when we become adults. How much do our parents’ shape us? Are all our choices dictated by ourselves or our parents’ words? I found Kal’s search for her true-self fascinating without ever becoming boring thanks to the adrenaline brought by the investigation.

We are proved once again that what happens on the highest spheres of the community is not shinier… or even legal. As the clock ticks, her mother’s hopes of being found are getting weaker, and Kal needs to use all her strengths and abilities to uncover the actions of shady well-off men ready to do anything to protect their secret world. For that, she must rely on her late father’s legacy, a knowledge of manipulation, deceit and lies. This comes so naturally to Kal that she starts to wonder what kind of person she really is.

While some of her actions as well as details in the storyline came a little too obvious or far-fetched, I could not help but feel the tension creep in as Kal got closer to her enemies, and the truth. The author masterfully manages to balance a fast-paced plot with deeper questioning and time flew so fast that I was genuinely surprised when I realized I had reached the end of the story. I am giving Good Girl, Bad Girl three and a half stars and will be looking forward to meeting Kal again in her next story!
