This book is a weak 3 stars. Virtually every character is unlikeable and the plot is basically non existant. I found this book a real slog to get through. The problem might be that I don’t seem to connect to translated works super well.

The book was gut-wrenching. It’s a beautiful exploration of how it feels to be queer and a queer person in their 20s. It felt deeply personal too. I loved it and I couldn’t put it down.

ah it was my own fault to have set such high expectations. tedious reading experience with unlikeable characters i didn’t feel compelled to root for, and an unnecessarily convoluted timeline. also got much less interesting as soon as jaehee was no longer a main character.
