Again. Her books just make me feel a lot. A lot. It's so much feelings that I poured my eyes out crying. It conveyed sadness in the loneliness and in the cores of the characters.

Heartbreaking. sad.
The embodiment of sadness and loneliness
Loved it to the core.

In the beginning, I had my doubts bc of some reviews but after the story started building it turned into one of the most memorable stories and the saddest
For the last 30 percent I literally just cried the whole time.

Highly recommended especially if you feel like crying.

This gave me so many sally Rooney vibes, which means I think peoples views are going to be very divided. I loved the writing and the characters. They were very flawed with tragic backstories but I liked reading them work through them. I didn’t like the romance much, there was just no chemistry and it seemed like they fell in love too quick. But I enjoyed the book a lot despite that.

Nina LaCour knows how to write emotionally damaged characters so well. I know that’s a weird statement but her character development through childhood trauma is extremely raw. She really shines a light on the emotions that can accompany trauma and how it shapes adult interactions later in life. Sara fosters’ childhood was the best part of this book because it felt soooo real. I knocked off a star purely because I’m not sure I loved how it ended. It was very much a read between the lines and I wanted it said on the paper

The most sensorally rich prose I have read in a long time. It feels like you could swim in this story. Like you could take a bite out of it and it would be a bitter-sweet marmalade. Like you're breathing in forest air for the first time after a long stint in the city, and your lungs open up, your body feel cleansed somehow. So tender and captivating, with soft, sore ruminations on the most important relationships in our lives. Read this book!
