The five stars is more for the series as a whole than the individual book. That itself was probably a 4.5.

This is the best sci fi series I’ve read. Every book made the world more interesting. Loved the ending.

I absolutely loved these books, and I don't even know what to do with myself now that I've finished with them. Wow. This series is just freaking awesome.

The ending of The Expanse series was quite satisfying.
Each character received their closure, and Holden made the only decision that truly fit his character. However, I was slightly disappointed by the lack of concrete explanations for the 'dark shadows'/ the cosmic beings, and the protomolecule inventors. The answers provided felt too abstract, especially considering how much time the characters spent trying to uncover their secrets.
That said, I would absolutely love it if the authors decided to further explore this universe in their future novels.
