so bittersweet to finish this series. these books are all amazing. can’t believe how quickly i read all nine of these books. will definitely re-read these all again in the future.

The last three books of the series felt different from the first six books. It continued to feel like the first six were prequel - setup for the seventh book. Overall, it still ended with tying all nine books nicely together.
It is hard to imagine how any scifi series will top this. Truly incredible. Moving, thought-provoking.

I really liked how this wrapped up the story.
I absolutely loved this book, and this series is for me the single greatest sci fi series I’ve ever read. I love these people and the Tachi / Roci and I will miss them. These books are in my view an absolutely unique combination competent military sci fi, hard science, competent presentation of grand philosophical questions of the nature of personal identity, the nature of tyranny, the banality of evil, the nature of love, loyalty, friendship - and so much more. They are not to be missed. They are classics of the genre, grand in breadth and sweep and yet accurate to the last rivet and weld.
