Kristin Hannah unfailingly writes historical fiction that utterly devastates me, and she does it SO well.

What a gorgeous masterpiece showcasing what we lose, learn, and love during war times. Stories almost so tragic to believe, with the gnawing fear to know that this is real. To think these things happened to innocent people losing so much and so many is just breathtaking and truly showcases how unstoppable love and the human spirit is.

I AM UNWELL.

Kristin Hannah- again! Bringing all the feels, breaking my heart- to repair it- to further gut me! An incredible story about WOMEN, their stories. The complete heartbreak and devastation. With absolutely beautiful glimmers of hope and love. I would literally be crying, grabbing my chest with how much this book made my heart soar and crash. So so so so good. But… I AM NOT OK!

Solid book, definitely "kept me interested" as my desk-mate likes to say. Especially at the begining I felt like the characters were very flat.
However, I really enjoyed the setting, with lots of french feel.
