I liked this book more than the first one! So if the first one wasn’t your cup of tea you might enjoy this one more!
This book did have me giggling, kicking my feet, and kept me entertained! I did really like the characters too. There was fun banter and definitely some spice! Hardy had some dirty one liners

I wasn’t that into the first book in this series, but thought it was good. But I enjoyed this one more, although it could’ve been a 100 pages or so shorter.
I liked Everly for the most part, even though her naïveté and too-forward thoughts could get annoying. Like Maggie, she’s passionate and behaves in a professional manner regardless of her feelings. I’ll admit that I wasn’t too excited about the fact that she had feelings first, but maybe that’s because I like seeing the guy work for it.
I thought Hardy was a pretty entertaining MMC to read about. His cluelessness could get irritating though, and I just wanted to shake him by the shoulders and scream “Open your damn eyes, man!” into his face. But I knew going in that the whole point of the plot was seeing him come to his senses and I liked it.
I don’t normally talk about side characters in my reviews, especially not former partners of the ex, but Maple wasn’t whom I was expecting her to be. She wasn’t the typical bitchy ex, she seemed to accept what happened between her and Hardy, and was actually looking out for herself and him when she helped him realize his feelings.
About the third act breakup, this is where I dropped a star. I felt that Hardy was manipulating Everly into forgiving him with sex, when he could’ve been honest with her outright. Thankfully, Everly called him out on this, and he seemed to acknowledge his mistakes.
Like most of MQ’s books, this one had funny, laugh-out-loud moments, maybe more than other books of hers I’ve read so far. I’m aware Hudson’s book is coming out after this, and I’m looking forward to reading about him and Sloane.

this book also gave me sm second hand embarrassment it was unbearable… him hiring the fmc so he can get back with the ex and the amount of times he embarrassed himself in front of the ex too…there’s a reason why she left him

Another absolutely hilarious and spicy book to the series.
I loved these two and their insane quirks and banter although I docked it a bit because the miscommunication drove me insane and the end wasn’t as epic as book 1! However i love this writing and the set up.

🥐Review🥐
Okay so I’ve been finding myself not enjoying some of Meghan Quinn’s stuff lately and I’m not sure what changed. I wasn’t sure about this series but started it and enjoyed it so I kept going.
Glad I did because this was my favourite so far. I looooooove a friends to lovers trope and when it’s best friends to lovers?? Sign me up!! One of my top 3.
I absolutely adored Hardy and Everly’s relationship. The banter? Oh my gos. So cute, so witty, so fun to read. And yes, adored Hardy.
I think sometimes I find some things in Meghan Quinn’s books a little farfetched and maybe that’s what had been putting me off? Like the fact that Polly dropped everything on her wedding day and rearranged her wedding schedule to help Everly do a feature for Hardy that wasn’t even that impressive? Yeah, no. That doesn’t happen.
Other than that, loved this one. Wanna see what Hudson’s book has to offer.
