This is a powerful story of multiple generations of a family and the trauma that envelopes them all.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the audio book - the narrators deliver performances that had me weeping and sobbing. Huge shout out to Kelvin Harrison Jr. who narrates Jojo - the teenage son of Leonie, beautifully narrated buy Rutin Wesly.
The beauty, the sadness, the lyrical flow and the intimate depths to which each character bares their souls makes this Jesmyn Ward book so very unputdownable.
