Jenny is trying to keep her life together. Her husband passed away, but only her best friend knows he had an affair, and they were about to get divorced. Roman, a billionaire and pro football player, shows up on Jenny's porch with a cardboard check. Jenny refuses the money but agrees to let him help get her house ready to sell. Roman quickly falls for Jenny even though he never pictured himself falling for a woman we 2 kids. Can they overcome the many obstacles their lives bring?

I loved this book so much! I love how Roman cares for Jenny. My heart melted when he showed up at Jenny's church to sit with her. Blake wins the award for best side character. I thought he was the best addition to this story. The author does not shy away from tackling real-life struggles in this book, and I'm here for it. This book has Christian themes.

Content Warning:
-Death of a husband and father
-Talk of a cheating husband
-Overbearing mother
-Head injury from football
*This is a clean contemporary read.

I went into this one right after the first one as this one was the next in the series that they’re all in. I started off with that as goodreads has it as book number 3.
Roman and Jenny are a lot different from the first couple and I honestly liked these two better. Roman’s main problem was getting over the fact that Jenny already had children. While Jenny was worried about what people would think considering how long it had been since her husband had died. All the characters were great and I especially adored Jenny’s kids. They just seemed so cute and they loved Roman instantly.
This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions and kept me interested in what would happen throughout the story.
Overall a sweet romance about second chances. Great if you want a clean sports romance that doesn’t have a ton of sports talk.

This book was an interesting mix of meeting a famous crush, being accidentally offensive, navigating a delicate situation, and then working through challenges before a HEA wrapup. Overall light and predictable, and I enjoyed this author's humor as usual :)

Emma St Clair is a gifted and authentic author. Ms St Clair has written a believable story here, which is quite the feat for a billionaire sweet romance! The story was not predictable, the characters were relatable, and it felt like it was a romance that could very well happen in real life-with or without the billionaire component.

Loved this sweet, clean romance novel. The potential is always hovering to slip into the stereotypical storyline of this genre. Emma St. Clair did a wonderful job of staying off that path & keeping the story moving in delightfully quirky ways. The main characters keep you pulling for them while the friends & family characters round out the storyline. I recommend this book to all romance book fans.

I am super impressed with The Billionaire Benefactor by Emma St. Clair. The more I read St. Clair's novels the more I'm convinced she is one of the BEST storytellers we have today. What impressed me the most about The Billionaire Benefactor is how much substance there is within the pages of this story. This is not your average Hallmark-y, fluffy Romance. There is romantic tension, don't get me wrong. It is great, but it's not the crux of the story. There is a man, Roman, hurting after the loss of his beloved father. Roman is the kind of guy who would give a person the shirt off his back if someone needed it. He is a genuinely good guy, but he often sticks his foot in his mouth and causes hurt feelings. He doesn't mean to, he just speaks before he thinks. The heroine is a single mother, Jenny, dealing with the loss of her husband doing the best she can to navigate the painful situation for her children. Jenny is a bit prideful. She doesn't like handouts and pity. She needs help, admits it to herself even, but has a super difficult time accepting "charity" from others. Why does she feel this way? Because she doesn't want others to think poorly of her, to think she is a failure. So she hides her truth. All this gets her is a lot of overwhelming work and loneliness. I really love how Roman, and his good friends, work to break down Jenny's walls and get her to expand her world a little. I also really love how Roman takes to Jenny's children and becomes a good male role model in their lives. And, I really appreciate the inspirational themes throughout the story. All in all, The Billionaire Benefactor is a great story I highly recommend. If you are in the mood for a highly engaging Contemporary Romance with substance, then definitely check out this story!

I purchased a copy of this novel in eBook form from Amazon.com on January 2, 2021, in order to read for fun and review. The opinions in this review are my own.
