For the first 75% of the book I was definitely enjoying it but not like OBSESSED, and then the last 25% happened and now I am a puddle
This is like a warm hug. This was wonderful, and I loved all of the relationships, and it felt authentic and realistic. Gideon is a happy sunshine boy, and I was so invested in his and Claudia's relationship. This book was funny -- I laughed aloud multiple times -- and I also cried with Claudia and Julia's phone call at the end after Jack was born .
This is a book that I'll come back to again and again when I want something quick and easy to read (I knocked this out in about 3 hours, and a fair amount of that was me putting the book down because I didn't want it to end) because I love these characters. I want a whole series about these characters. I miss them already, and I finished the book 5 minutes ago. I want more of them all. There was so much growth and development just from 300 pages, and it was easy reading.
tl;dr: This is a great contemporary that focuses on women and their relationships and friendships with each other. Featuring: fully developed characters (even side characters!), teenagers that act like teenagers, a lesbian relationship that is completely and naturally integrated into the story, and a boy who is absolutely swoonworthy.

Such a feel good, happy book. I loved the characters and felt fully invested. This was a nice break from life.
I just want to point out that I received this book in my Owlcrate today, and I’ve already finished it. I couldn’t put it down, and I have a humongous smile on my face after finishing it!
I absolutely love this book. I love the real emotions of the characters, and the fear that can hold one back. I love the happy ending. I love the friendships, families, and romance. This book is just so relatable! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It was sarcastic, funny, honest and surprisingly deep at times. A Midsummer Nights Dream was dissected well and the characters felt real. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a pleasurable, quick read.
So cute! Literally the only thing more I could want would be more Shakespeare. That's just because I'm a Shakespeare b**ch.
Main romance was so cute. I loved Gideon with my whole heart. At first I literally went.... Why does he have the same name as a Harry Potter character and then they addressed it in text and I was very happy.
The dialogue is so clever. I laughed out loud at a lot of the jokes. Such a smart book.
I loved the way it dealt with the nerdier aspects of the book. Equal weight and respect given to gaming and boyband culture which isn't something I thought I would see. Very pleasantly surprised.
The female friendships! Swoon. All I ever want.
You know a book is good when all you want is to just keep reading about the characters. I'll miss this lot.

I just love Emma Mills! I don’t know how it’s possible, but with each book she writes I find myself loving the new characters more than the last and that’s saying a lot because I adore each of her books so much! She just has an amazing way of portraying teens and families in a believable and relatable way!
When Claudia accidentally hears a conversation that she shouldn’t have, she finds herself on the list of the meanest girl in school. She figures if she pretends it didn’t happen, nothing will change at school. But then she’s paired with that same girl, Iris, to write a paper and everything goes downhill from there. In order to save their grade, they are forced to try out for the school’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Claudia’s life changes in ways she never could have predicted.
Claudia is awkward you guys… but endearing and I just loved her so much. From her love of Battle Mage and playing it with her family to her complete cluelessness about boys and what they want, I bet you can’t read this without thinking she would be a wonderful friend. From the first time she meets Gideon I just completely adored these two together. Gideon is so sweet and kind and Claudia is as I stated, clueless when it comes to guys, so she has absolutely no idea that he has any interest in getting to know her in a more than friend’s capacity. The awkwardness that ensues makes this so much fun.
If you’re looking for a story full of different family and friendship dynamics, a girl who loves playing Battle Mage and doesn’t care who knows it, and a story that revolves around a production of A Midsummer’s Night Dream, then look no further! This story was funny and nerdy and one of my absolute favorite reads this year.
Thank you to the publisher for an early copy in exchange for my thoughts.

Oh my god, I loved this book so much. The kind of book you wish you could just live in, the kind you wish the world was more like. Characters you just want to hug and keep close. Writing so lovely with amazing incredible wonderful platonic relationships, sibling love, some awesome diversity, beautiful LGBTQ rep, and the sweetest most wholesome high school romance. I can totally see this being a go to feel good book for me and am already so excited to reread ❤️
