4.5/5. I fell in love with this book so hard it's insane. I read it in a day and I loved everything about it. The characters are great and diverse, and the relationship are amazing, especially the friendships. I will definitely pick up some other books from Emma Mills!

Umm so this was absolutely incredible and may be one of my new favorites! I loved the characters so much, especially how complex they all were. I can't wait to reread this!!

This book...I read it at the exact right time. That’s not to say any other time wouldn’t have been a good time because this book is wonderful but I started it yesterday and finished today. And Today was not a good day for me. But reading this book made it better. It’s honestly one of the funniest books I’ve ever read. I wish I had the witty banter skills that Claudia had. She reminds me of me in high school and college. But way more funny. I loved the family (specifically siblings) dynamic as well as the friendship captured in this book.
I really enjoyed everything about this book and highly recommend it because it’s adorable and hilariously funny.

2.5 stars

I’m not sure if Emma Mills’ writing just isn’t for me or whether this just couldn’t pull me back like First & Then did. I had the same experience to a point, the first half was slow and I felt disconnected from the characters and ambivalent about the story. However, with First & Then, the second half redeemed my earlier feelings and managed to connect me into the story. FOOLISH HEARTS wasn’t able to execute the 180 degree turn.

My main issue with this book was that it felt more middle grade on an emotional front than YA. The drama lama was off putting and kind of ridiculous to me, I do not believe these characters behaved like 17 year olds, more like 13-14 year olds; the title really did fit the behaviour.

The 2.5 stars come from my great like of Gideon Prewitt, the only character who seemed real to me and my kind-of-like of Iris, the rest of the characters and the drama frustrated me.

The cover is beautiful, one of the most gorgeous covers I’ve ever seen.

Now, all I need hope is that this review slips past my buddy who both adores this book and the author. I think in deference to her love, I’d better steer clear on Emma Mills in the future.

This was a really sweet and quick read! I really liked all of the characters and had to know what happened to them. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a sweet and light-hearted read!

What an incredibly comforting, lovely, fluffy, feel-good read!
I love that so many of the characters are genuinely good people (or trying to be) who unashamedly love their friends and family and are there for each other.

Freaking Gideon Prewitt. The "benevolent space prince from a planet with three suns that are all named after him." He's the cutest and I couldn't help but fall in love with him too.

A little slow to start for me, but once I got going I couldn't put it down. I literally had to force myself to go to sleep and quit reading. The friendships were relatable and it was nice to see their progression unfold. There wasn't a terrible amount of romance for it being a contemporary and what romance there was was sweet and adorable. The family dynamics were believable. I can't believe I didn't read this one sooner. I highly recommend you pick this one up! Looking forward to reading more by Emma Mills.
