Okay everyone knows how I feel about young adult contemporary. It’s established. Here’s the rub: I totally dug this book. Why? Because it was real without doing that crappy “let’s romanticize cancer” idiocy. The protagonist, Claudia, gets in a real life situation when she overhears a nasty break up of a long established couple. Claudia is the sort of person who just wants to be in the middle, blend into the background, wear comfortable clothes when you’re not at school or work, and hang out with her well established group without fear of change or confrontational behavior. She is a normal human being just trying to hang out in the middle and make it through as the interesting unique person she is.. But life happens, rude girls happen, insecurity strikes, friendships are compromised. Because literally does anyone want the nice familiar KNOWN to give way to the scary newness? Nope. If you said yes, I call shenanigans. I thought this book was great. Artsy and hip without the gag overload. Totally diverse character makeup and a crazy fun THE GUILD vibe (The Guild, see Felicia Day, ie web based series). Lots of f-bombs and realness of the age group, but sweet romance and glorious coming of age tale with a nice Happily Ever After or...you know, happily wrapped up and life continues past age 17. So because I said so: go read this book right now, it’ll give you the feels and a smile as you finish the last sentence.
omg what this was so cute???? I liked this way more than I thought I would like what the hell. All the characters were so amazing and real and made mistakes and it felt so real and aaaaaaahhhh I love it
Gideon is my new boyfriend, ok? Ok.
This book was super sweet and I loved the growth with Iris and Claudia.
It was lacking in excitement at time but overall a great read!
Also, Noah and Gideon are bff goals.

“He’s like a benevolent space prince. From a planet with three suns that are all named after him.”
“Really.”
“Yeah, and when it rains, they call it the ‘prince’s tears’ in their native tongue, which is so beautiful it makes you cry instantaneously.”

This is one of the best books I've ever read. THE best Emma mills book. Truly everything I could ever want in a contemporary.
WHY THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER:
-it is funny af. im not kidding, i laughed out loud at SEVERAL points.
-the dialogue is sharp & witty & entertaining
-its such a happy book but makes me wanna cry at the same time
-THE CHARACTERS the characters THE CHARACTERS i wanna give em all a never-ending hug, every single one of em
-PAIGE AND IRIS, name a better fucking couple i dare you
-this book weirdly made me wanna be a better person??
-it's so tragically underrated
-and it's just instant serotonin
I love this book in such an intrinsic way, i can't even describe it. Going into this, I NEVER imagined it would be so good. Sure it's not a perfect book, hardly anything is, but I will never stop screaming from the rooftops about this.

This book made me happy & that’s all I have to say. I loved these characters & this story. It’s refreshing to read a YA romance where the main love interest isn’t a jerk.
This was such a sweet and happy book. Usually I don’t like light-hearted YA contemporary, but I truly enjoyed this one and it made me feel genuinely good. I loved the narrator and every single character, I loved the clever dialogue, I loved the diversity of the characters, and above all I’m so weak for Shakespeare references. I think Gideon would’ve made a better Puck than Oberon, but regardless. The only reason for a 4 star rating instead of 5 was while it was very cute and happy, there were never really any high stakes besides one incident near the end, which is fine, just not what I prefer in a book. Also I totally thought the love story was going to go a completely different way and got my hopes up but it ended up being extremely predictable. Overall a great read if you want a quick read and something lighthearted, smart, and cute.
