This is the 17th book of this series and I liked it just as much of the others. I can never put these books down and once I finish in there isn’t another one to read yet.

In this installment, someone is murdering Amish teenagers and Kate has to figure out who and stop it.

The series continues to be fast paced, interesting, and twisted.

My main issue with the book (and series) at this point is that in every book there is a murder. And in every book Kate says something like “painters mill is a quiet town with low crime” or “the Amish are so peaceful.” Or just acts surprised there is a murder. Kate - there have been SO many murders. Let’s just not act surprised by it anymore. And ALSO stop going places without back up!

This is one of my favorite series and I enjoyed this latest book. I liked that Tomasetti was involved in the case. The mystery was intriguing and I’m always happy to see the other officers on Kate’s team. It’s also very fun to see some of the towns and locations I grew up around mentioned throughout the story.

I do wish there was a little bit more character development with everyone.  There was a bit of a relationship between two of the officers in the last book that went unresolved that I wanted to find out more about, but it wasn’t even hinted at again in this one.

Overall, though, I enjoyed this and am looking forward to the next one.
