I DEVOURED this! I had such a good time reading this, it was so good! I know I’m VERY behind on reading this book and I’m sad it took me this long!!!

The world-building is so unique and totally draws you in. You’ve got this world divided by blood…literally. If you’re a Silver, you have powers and you’re at the top of society. If you’re a Red, well… you’re basically treated like dirt. It’s a fun mixture of dystopian and urban fantasy, but what really got me was the twists. Just when you think you have it all figured out, bam, something happens that makes you rethink everything.

Mare, the main character, is such a badass but still relatable. I also enjoyed the romance. It’s not some cheesy, predictable romance. There’s actual depth to the relationships, and I found myself constantly second-guessing who Mare should end up with.

Honestly, I was on the edge of my seat for most of the book. This is one of those books that has everything: action, drama, romance, and unexpected plot twists.

So yeah, if you’re like me and took WAY TOO LONG to read this, then do yourself a favor and pick it up. You won’t regret it!!

This one has been in my TBR for a while and I’m so glad I’m finally read it. Mare was so relatable as a FMC. The plot twists were wild. The male characters had my head spinning. I can’t wait to pick up book two.

2.5✨ this was worse than I remembered lol. Mare is such a pick me I can’t

I’m leaning on a 3.5!

I liked the book at first but as it progressed, it turned out to be a bit boring for me. The book had flaws but overall it was a nice book. I did have some issues with it though.

FIRST: I don’t usually like reading too much romance in fantasy novels and this was not an exception. Mare had so many love interests. She had Cal on the left, Maven on the right, Kilorn at her back, and fricken Lucas at her front (good thing they didn’t do smtg there) I get that the author was trying to incorporate “ships” in the story but it got so annoying for me. JUST STICK TO ONE GUY MARE GOOD GOD

SECOND: Some of the dialogue didn’t make sense. Maybe I’m the only one who noticed it but it reaally bugged me a lot. One example is Maven. His character is described as calm and relaxed then he just goes screaming like a wild woman. It did happen to quite a lot of the characters. They kept saying a bunch of different things its kinda weird pls stop.

THIRD: The transitions were kinda confusing. Mare has such scattered thoughts. We’re in one scene then we’re in another so we really start to get confused with what’s happening. The author sometimes doesn’t really emphasize what in the present and what Mare was thinking about.

Flew through this in 2 days. Quick and easy read but also interesting and addictive. Didn’t want to put it down. Will definitely continue this series.
