Loved Metamorphosis and In the Penal Colony but wasn't as fussed on the other stories

Five stars for metamorphosis.

Other standouts being: in the penal colony, the fasting artist, eleven sons, a dream, and a report to the academy.

I think Kafka understood loneliness.

Some of the stories I was really entranced by and really made me think - The Metamorphosis, In the Penal Colony, The Hunger Artist, Josephine

The others were almost inscrutable to me. This made it frustrating reading a collection. Maybe it was some lost context or not “getting it” but it made it hard to finish the whole collection
