This book was a quick and easy read for me. I read Girl In Pieces a while back, and remembered it being pretty intense. This was definitely more " young adult" vibes compared to GIP.

I did enjoy this. I found it went a little fast for my liking, and I would've preferred more complex writing, but that is just the author and her style of writing.

Didn't particularly like Emmy as a person, but she got better toward the end. I can say she did have good character development. I would've liked to learn more about Liza, Daniel, and Jeremy more though, they did seem a little flat as characters and they could've been developed more. I do think that many of the characters needed to be developed more, such as Joey, Maddie, Nana, her mother, etc. Just in general I found them to be a little boring.

It was good though. I stayed engaged and it managed to discuss important themes in an accessible way so that young adults could relate.
Also, could definitely see myself relating to Emmy in her relationship with Gage and just wanting to be loved, and I felt so embarrassed and in pain for her when the photos she sent him got leaked. She just wanted someone to love her- and see her, because she'd never been seen before, and she would do anything to do that.

I need more Daniel please!!!

Insightful and a unique position on an important issue. Leaves room for the reader to think in consider multiple facets. Character voice was strong, and the plot was gripping. Parents: definitely important things for kids to be aware of are discussed, but check content warnings and be open to discussions with your child about many things.
