So much yes!! Brother’s best friend, forbidden romance, first love... They’re such cutie pies!
Absolutely beautiful! I loved this writing style and will definitely be reading more by this author.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 This book was sweet and I wasnt expecting to like it as much as I did
I liked this book well enough.
Things I liked:
1. The love story was cute and I really liked Kit as a character.
2. I enjoyed the fact that there were ample sex scenes in this book, if you are going to do cheesy gooey romance, you better do it right and you better do it big.
3. I like the fact that the author portrayed Kit's PTSD and guilt so well, and I enjoyed the parallelism between his life and the lives of the older men in his life.
Things I disliked:
1. I thought that Jessa could at times be juvenile, but then again she was 17 and since I work with 17 year olds, her immaturity makes sense.
2. The end... the epilogue... was 100% unnecessary and I hate it. It was totally unrealistic, and just so far fetched I was like.... stop... you.have.ruined.everything.
But I liked Kit, like a lot. So I'll give it 4 stars, because it was fast paced, I picked it back up and read the last 180 pages in less thatn a day (even though I started it in Oct of 2018 and got sidetracked and just finished it today, March 2, 2020), was fun to read, and every now and again between my heavy fantasy and sci-fi books I need a good cheesy contemporary romance!
Is this great literature, no. Is it fun literature, yes. And sometimes that's all it has to be.

The gist ..Forbidden relationship-best friends sister. Marines, psd, loss at war. This book just hit every emotion. Fun, spontaneous, annoying, loving, heartbreaking, sweet, sad, genuine, literally every emotion-it got me. Beginning was good, middle had me bored for a minute but end got me back on track. Kit was so true. Jessas parents hold on her made me mad but it was realistic. Kit and Riley’s friendship, yes! The ending and the way it got there and the time it took was real and understanding. Jessa and kits relationship was so sweet.

I love the authors writing! She made you feel all the characters emotions which I absolutely loved! Can’t wait to read the next one!
I’m usually not a fan of love stories that revolve around military life. But DAMN! This is my favorite love story. Even cried a few times. Sarah Alderson (pen name Mila Gray) thrills me with EVERY SINGLE BOOK she writes.
