Was a bit to 'tiktok' for my liking and not historical storytelling. Jus speeds through quick facts with stats

Minor: Sexual content
this was an interesting listen, but i will note (as others have) that the dinner party setup was a bit distracting and superfluous. i appreciate the author's creative take on structuring the book and its information in this way, but overall it just didn't hit for me
that aside, i do appreciate the history the author laid out here

The topic is really interesting and I would like to learn more about it, but I'm not a big fan of the writing.
The "dinner party" framework is a bit overdone. I have to weed through that and the many euphemisms before I can glean info. There were SO many euphemisms.
Sometimes it is cheeky and fun, but I wish the author refrained from using so many. It doesn't help normalize speaking on sex openly and with clear terms (even though I am sure the author is for that, considering the book topic). I've done some health education work and I just really dislike sexual euphemisms because it complicates matters when kids and adults speak about sexual abuse. So yeah, I'm coming from that perspective and it can make the reading not as fun.
