Review:
This was a fun, interesting, and thoughtful book on some of the 'kinks', or changes in direction through history, that human sexuality has taken. It was interesting to read a book written by an Australian that focused a lot on Australian statistics, as I find that rare, and so I appreciated seeing data from my own country. The narrator has a very relaxing prose, and it is all set up with an allegory to a 5 course dinner, where we meet guests such as those who made great changes to the way humans thought about and treated sexuality. It might come across a little juvenile to some, but it also made it more engaging. There was a lot of interesting things brought up, and I enjoyed having many misconceptions about the history and commonly accepted fact of practices, objects, and history challenged.

Absolutely loved this book, filled with fun titbits and historical anecdotes. My only complaint was the dinner party framing device, which didn't really work for me.
