Probably more like 3.5. I liked it and had some thought provoking passages. But didn’t love it as much as some other memoirs I’ve read lately
This audiobook was incredible and powerfully read by its truly remarkable author. Thank you, to the original Bravey. This book will change the world.
That was phenomenal. Why did I wait so long to read this? I’m definitely going to buy a physical copy so I can return to it again and again to underline all the phrases that bring me back to bravery. It was bold, honest, and lovely.
I absolutely loved this book. As a distance runner and writer, Alexi is seriously an inspiration to me. Her book was so full of good advice but it was written so well that it didn’t feel like a self help book. So so so good. (Also brb going to go chase some dreams haha)
I must admit, sometimes I would get frustrated with the “pick yourself up and do it” mantra that’s throughout this book. For a lot of reasons, that’s frustrating. But to the book’s defense, I picked this up expecting more memoir than self-help so that’s probably on me for not realizing the gist of what I was getting into. Not that it isn’t well done!! It’s SO well done. In fact I did cry multiple times but the dad-sad essay left me bawling. She writes in a way that is deeply resonant with its figurative speech that it’s thrilling to turn the page and see how she describes an emotion next.
Inspiring and an easy entertaining read all around. As a runner and a mother I related to many chapters but this book is for everyone. It focuses on healing and acceptance of ones self, as well as traumas and family relationships. I flew through this book and enjoyed every minute of reading it.

Alexi, thank you for sharing your story. Thank you for your wisdom. Thank you for this beautiful, funny, honest, vulnerable memoir.
I had the honor of meeting Alexi, and working with her on producing videos to promote Bravey. She is the kindest, warmest, most articulate, yet relatable person you will meet. All of this and more came across in her book.
I didn't know I needed to read a memoir like this. I didn't know how a story of an Olympian, filmmaker, and writer could relate to my own story. Her words are like those of a coach or a big sister I never had. And these words will stay with me for a long time.
Highly recommend Bravey for athletes, creatives, and everyone in between.
