Like Jonathon Strange & Mr Norell only more personal

I originally picked up this book because I wanted to read another books like the one by Susanna Clark. Alas, this books isn't quite the same. For one this really focuses on one character. For another, it is also about social issues, and really tries to make a point about how to improve the world.

Recommended for lovers of aristocratic fairies and romance.

For me the most enjoyable part of this book is the main character, who is so unlike many romance MCs that I just enjoyed it so much. Her personal struggle with understanding society and emotions is so interesting and makes such a refreshing romance story, apart from the wonders of magic and Faries.

Lovely writting and I really intriguing plot!!

This was delightful! Great writing, cozy magical realism setting, lovable characters, and a slow burn. I ate this up!

📝 Quick Thoughts:
I had a great time with this book. I laughed and enjoyed the mystery element as well as the magical element in the back drop of Regency England. I did not want to put this down!
💭 What I Loved:
– I enjoyed the banter between the two characters. I thought it was clever and funny because the FMC is without part of her soul so it fits with the grumpiness of the MMC.
– I enjoyed the fact that the love interest for the FMC was happy with who she was and not unhappy when there was a twist.
🤔 What Didn’t Work for Me:
– Even though I enjoyed the banter, I felt the plot fell a little flat for me. I was interested but not super hooked. I just wanted to see the interactions between the FMC and the MMC.
📚 Read if you like:
 Historical Romance, Bridgerton, cozy fantasy.
🔖 Would I Recommend It?
yes, I would recommend this to someone who likes the brigerton back drop but wants some magic mixed in.
