this was such a soft and lovely read. i especially adore how the book never treated dora as though she was something to fix, her journey was something else entirely. and their romance!! wow... it reminds me of that sayaka saeki quote (below!).
i also loved vanessa and dora's relationship :,) just girls being girls <3 there was also something so poetically beautiful about how it ends and the way it wraps itself up- overall, just a lovely lovely read

You know, love doesn't mean "l never want you to change." But I don't think it means "I don't care if you change" either. So I suppose it might mean, "I believe that you'll always be the person I adore." A declaration of faith, perhaps."

This book was a sweet read. I liked the characters and relationships and was very happy it didn’t fit into the cliche of love triangle etc which is where I thought it might head. My gripes however are that the ending felt very rushed I was kind of like wait, what, we’re done? I felt more interested in the side characters romance than the actual main romance. Also thought that Dora’s afflictions were akin to autism which I liked but then it sometimes felt like she had very neurotypical reactions when it suited so the whole idea of missing half her soul (which if the author did intend to be an autism parallel then that wording in itself is kind of icky) and having little emotion didn’t actually seem that serious when it was supposed to be one of the main plot drivers.

A 10 star read. This was absolutely magical, whimsical and beautiful. I would have to say Dora is one of my top female main characters. I deeply related to her and she felt so real to me. I loved how the faerie world and fae were written and I loved the imagery of the iron scissors. The opening was so captivating. Can't wait to read the next book in the series. The ending???? Yeah, I am impatiently awaiting the rest of the series.
