It is not exciting as Maupin's Tales of the City, but it gives mature gay men chances to reflect on behaviors fueled by Western gay culture. It's one great East Asian gay novel to date amongst the alarming high amount of Yaoi/BL literature produced to oversatiate reader markets.

I gained much needed insight into what being queer in seoul could look like—consistently funny, uncomfortably candid at times, and occasionally heart breaking, this book added nuance to my perception of my home city.

i enjoyed this fast-paced read a lot! however, some of the time-jumping made it difficult to follow the plot of the story... but i loved the descriptions/stories included in the beginning with young and saehee, as well as at the end with gyu-ho. the main character is funny and sarcastic, and feels deeply connected to the author. i also loved the translator's note from anton hur at the end and it made me feel more connected to this story.
