It was okay.
I liked the first book better since I feel this one was lacking in plot however,I still like the fact that Edward isn't as creepy in the books compared to the movies.

you see, I actually really liked Jacob up until the point he forced himself on her. That was gross. But there’s a part of me that thinks Jacob deserves better… Like, I know he would treat her so well. But she’s MEANT for Edward. It’s more like I want Jacob for myself tbh LMAOO

With the movie being the clearer image in my head, I'm grateful for the book to fill in the blanks and gaps. But to be honest, (and I also thought this when rereading Twilight) I didn't remember Bella as someone so selfish and with barely any personality when I first got into the series 10+ years ago, haha. I still wish the remaining books also had their own Midnight Sun equivalent.

Bella is depressed that her vampire ex boyfriend doesn’t want to be with her. Also, she’s only with Edward so she can become a vampire.

I gave this 3 stars the last time I read it apparently, and I think I’ll leave it at 3. The writing wasn’t as strong to me as the first book. There were also some cringe moments. I did read it super fast. That’s only because I’m TE all the way so most of this book paled (ha) in comparison to the first due to his ridiculous absence. Not that I didn’t feel for Bella at times, but she’s not my favorite in this one. She risks endangering Jessica (how dare she put Anna Kendrick in harm’s way!), she sees everyone, even her supposed best friend Jacob, as practically second-class to the Cullens, not to mention all the hell she puts Charlie through. And, honestly, I just got sick of her falling all the damn time. Did that stop me from flying through the book? NO. Insufferable, but addicting, read.
