A great compilation of the legends surrounding Robin Hood. Howard Pyle did an awesome job recounting his various adventures, and though it had only a few references to the modern traditional story we all know, it felt like a chance to get to know Robin Hood beyond the single adventure depicted in all the movies.

I will never EVER recover from that ending. Anyone who dares utter the words “Robin Hood” will trigger a violent PTSD attack. I couldn’t even fucking read the ending because I was crying so goddamn hard. It caused me sheer fucking pain to read.
Anyways, the book was super wholesome and Will scarlet was my favorite. I highly recommend. Will read again.

Still holds up pretty well; I think I may have read an abridged version when I was a child. The audiobook version through Audible Plus was great because of all the singing of verses just like a minstrel. The many movie and television adaptations keep the general gist of the book, but most do take liberties with the book. There is a bit of repetitiveness to the stories, but for kids, that might be okay.

To srovnání s Artušem a jeho rytíři strhlo tři hvězdičky.
A zpracování příběhu ten zbytek.
