Kitty is growing a backbone. She is not the cub beaten and sniveling in the corner with her tail tucked. That Kitty has left the building. The new Kitty has to face her fears and show the world who she is. She faces the judgmental, the haters of the world with her head held high, naked before all the world.

Kitty finds her hands overflowing with drama and intrigue. While waiting to testify she finds. The government has some hidden agenda's in their interest of the supernaturals, and have been doing something terrible. The supernatural community in Washington is unusual and yet works. She meets and works with individuals she would have baulked at in the past. She even finds herself a hot little kitty to play with. She learns of new dangerous others who threaten freedoms. Layers of betrayal, mistrust and torture flutter through the pages. In the end Kitty finds she has more than she ever knew.

I enjoyed this book more than the first. Kitty really dealt with some hard lessons and truths that developed her as a character.I can't wait to read the next book in her saga.

Sometimes all I'm looking for in a read is some entertaining dark humor and a vampire/werewolf urban fantasy. Carrie Vaughn gives me that in spades with "Kitty Norville! :)

I found this book more enjoyable than the first. It seems as if Kitty is coming into herself quite nicely! She's still not the sharpest tool in the shed, and perhaps overly idealistic, but much less painful to read about than she was.

I found the romance a little unnecessary for the story, it just didn't seem to add anything. But aside from that I quite ejoyed Luis!

Government conspiracy, religious cult and supernatural radio chat show all rolled into one. Despite the silly titles of these books, they're shaping up to be a good urban fantasy series. Read it in one sitting.

I wasn't as keen on this installment as the first, the first book introduced us to the world, the workings of the pack and some unique characters.
This book was Kitty with a bunch of new people going to a hearing. the ending was great but up until about 70 percent the book was extremely boring. Also i couldn't understand Kitty's obsession with Fitz, and her complete and utter trust in her new Vampire friend... It all just seemed a bit all over the place nothing really connecting to anything else as Kitty stumbles through the book..... Such a shame as i loved the first book, will still give book 3 a go.

Our favorite werewolf DJ is at it again. This time, Kitty Norville has been summoned to Washington DC to testify before a Senate committee on paranormal biology. While there, she is taken under the wing of the city's vampire mistress, Alette. Kitty fights against Alette's controlling ways while admiring her calm strength. A hunky South American were-jaguar who pants after her, military hit men who want to kidnap her, an evil sidhe who wants to control her, and extreme religious fanatic who wants to kill her make up just a small part of the cast in this intrigue-filled romp through our nation's capitol.

While not as fun or as quick a read as the first book, "Kitty and the Midnight Hour", Vaughn's second "Kitty" book is a satisfying chick-lit read. Just don't expect the hero and heroine to ride (run?) off together in a happily-ever-after ending. If you don't mind that, then definitely pick up this sequel. It's a good continuation of the first story – but is also a good stand-alone book.

Oh, and as a bonus, the author has included a short "Kitty" story at the end of the book. A quick, fun read that for all its brevity shows a keen insight into human behavior.

The action picked up in this - the second book. I chewed through this book quick and was left wanting more more more.

New characters were introduced in this book that I hope will come back. I really liked some of the people Kitty meets in Washington.
