This was an absolutely adorable read, and it always feels nice to see my own culture reflected in books like these. I loved the MC's relationship with her sisters and her parents, and it was just a wonderful book on South Asian joy. It most definitely gave me extra feels because I have a cousin's wedding coming up to look forward to! Absolutely recommend this to anyone who is brown like me and wants to see themselves in a story or anyone who wants to get a glimpse of how the culture and traditions around South Asian weddings are (this being a Gujurati wedding).

We Indians love weddings. No one would want to miss a wedding event, its like a festival

I can’t even lie, I bought this book purely for the cover (yes, I judge a book by its cover). The story inside did not disappoint either. It’s a nice, lighthearted read. I really enjoyed the characters. The only complaint I have is that there is nothing more cringeworthy when an adult thinks teenagers talk in abbreviations and slang constantly. This book definitely perpetuated that stereotype.

My Sister's Big Fat Indian Wedding narrates the story of Zuri and Naveen. Zuri's sister's wedding is happening and Naveen who is the groom's cousin has come from South Africa to attend the wedding . Zuri's parents wants her to become a doctor or a lawyer like her sisters , while she has applied to a bunch of music colleges. While going to one of those auditions , She meets Naveen who is also participating in that competition.

I loved the characters Naveen and Zuri and how their relationship evolved . The author portrayed Indian culture beautifully throughout the book .It had the perfect ratio of chaos, friendship, love and family . I cannot not talk about the cover . It is so gorgeous . The only reason that I give 4 stars is because of the ending . The way it ended so abruptly slightly irritated me . Other than that it was perfect .

I would surely recommend for light fun read .
