This book was a lot of fun! I heard a booktuber mention this manga and said the premise reminded her of a historical drama, so I had to check it out. I can agree that this does remind me of a historical drama. The main character MaoMao was so funny and spunky. She makes the best of her situation and finds herself in a bunch of silly antics.
This volume had a few small mysteries, which made the story more intriguing. I can't wait to see where the rest of this manga goes, because volume one made me smile and excited to read more.

I loved the anime so much that I had to pick up the manga—and Volume 1 did not disappoint! It was so fun seeing Maomao’s sharp wit and curiosity come to life on the page. She’s such a great main character—clever, unbothered, and just the right amount of chaotic. The mix of mystery, palace drama, and subtle humor totally pulled me in, and the artwork is beautiful. I’m already excited to keep going with the series!
