Don't get why this is 8.5 and not like earlier but whateva.

this is totally like the Shatter Me novellas when you see the villain in the first book explaining his actions and then you fall in love with them more?

This. EEEEEEEE I want more Reyez. Pwease?

Ugh, the horror that Reyes went through. Loved this little glimpse into him and his side.

C'était amusant de voir Reyes grandir avec cet innocence. Mais je crois que j'aime encore plus suivre Charley ^^

It can be risky business to read a POV from one of your all-time favorite bad boys. It's not always a good thing to.get to know their thoughts and reasoning. This time it went okay and Reyes didn't fall from the pedestal. But I must admit that I generally like (ed. lust) him more when seen through Charley's eyes.
It was a good read. We didn't learn something new per se, but it expanded the knowledge about Reyes and his relationships.

THIS TITLE IS SO MISLEADING *sobs* this was sooo much darker than Charley's perspective. Which makes sense, but still. The beginning was tough getting through.

For fans of the series- this is a total must read!!

*******************SPOILERS***********************

A long time coming this Novella was! And if I'm honest, the only downside was that it didn't have to be a novella. I'm pretty sure this could easily have been made into a full book.

Anyway....we see Reyes from when he's a boy....from the days with Earl, then when he sees Dutch, her real name, how he thinks she's a dream....all the way through prison and right up to the time when Charley finally pieced the puzzle together to figure out who he was and to make sure he put his astral projected ass back into his corporeal body before they pulled the plug on him.

this gave me several new view point angles on Reyes. obviously no child should have gone thru what he did, so so much heartache for him...he's so loyal- to his sister and best friend. He doesn't go out of his way to fight but will defend and yes kill if he needs to.

And the most shocking revelation. at least to Reyes, is his true identity which, he doesn't remember until Charley kisses his corporeal body.

So, he's not this "kill first, ask questions later" , satans son that he does try to uphold....at least to the outside world! he's had a lot thrown at him. He's had to fight for everything and I think he's truly surprised, still, that Charley loves him.

If you love the series, you'll love this. There's nothing NOT to love!

Thank you Ms Jones for this- we need another now, as we watch them fight for Beeps survival!!

I just don't really but into Reyes' whole back story. With his capabilities & how off the charts intelligent he is, he could've easily killed Earl & still have taken care of Kim without anyone knowing. With the kind of person Earl is it probably wouldn't be completely unexpected if he just disappeared one day. It doesn't seem like too many people in Earl's life would look into it that much or care enough about Reyes or Kim to do anything about them either.
It just doesn't really add up to me.

& Charlie's family all suck, except for Bob, of course. Wicked step mom for obvious reasons. Her dad for letting Denise treat her that way. Denise's actions pretty much lead to Charlie's sexual assault & the dad didn't even care. I know Charlie didn't straight up say what happened but she peed herself so they obviously would've helped her clean up & could see that she was missing her underwear & probably had some bruising or something. & I know her sister isn't in this book but she sucks too. She knows how Denise treated Charlie but didn't care at all either because she was the perfect little girl that got doted on.

& speaking of Bob, poor guy!! Apparently he's going to die the worst way imaginable & go to hell! Yikes!
