3.5 ⭐️ The first half was boring, got interesting for awhile but ending was just ok. Narration style took some getting used too. Voices were good but more a production (multiple narrators).
Wondering why humans had demons. Finally looked it up and realized ‘daemons’ are familiars. So why not just say familiar? Still was never explained.
Found it weird that an 11y/o girl called a king bear ‘my dear’ all the time.
Still, it was an interesting concept and I will finish out the series

Nice classic fantasy book! Compelling characters, and something that is enjoyable to read as an adult, which many children’s books are not
I really enjoyed the book!!
However, a few parts in the long exposition in the beginning were a bit dragging. It really picks up pace in the end though and I couldn’t put the book down in the end.
I absolutely love the concept of dæmons and I want one toooo pleaseeeeeeee!!
