A really good sequel. It's nice to have a different story from Kyoshi's time as Avatar considering she was avatar for over 200 years.
I do have some minor issues. Things happen to move the plot along, but they make characters come across as dumb or poor strategists. Especially when you were told in the previous book they are intelligent and great strategists. There were better ways to get the plot moving and setting up situations. I missed the Flying Opera Company, I wish they were in the book, they were fantastic characters and we just didn't get them. The new team Kyoshi is great, and it would have been great to see them interact with the original team Kyoshi.
This book is a lot slower, and more political intrigue than you would be used to in the avatar world. I loved it, I loved finding out about the political nuances and cultures of the world. Others might not be a fan.

Good for what it was, and consistent with the previous book. Does what all good tie-in novels should and stays true to the canon while making sensible additions.
That was alot more violent and angst then most Avatar franchise stories so far!
