Can't wait for the movie to be terrible.
BOOK REVIEW!! The Trench by Steve Alten (Meg 2) 3 out of 5 stars
⭐️⭐️⭐️
3 out of 5 stars
Reading Dates
May 17, 2023- July 30, 2023
Set four years after the events of The Meg, an underwater submersible is destroyed by a possible monster attack.
Jonas Taylor, who has been studying Angel, the last surviving known Megalodon, is called back to the trench to investigate.
But the company is hiding something, and the new owners will kill anyone who finds out.
The Trench by Steve Alten was a fun, shocking journey back into the Mariana Trench. The downside is that Steve Alten relied heavily on badly written female characters, two forgettable villains, all wrapped up in a fascinating journey into the deep abyss.
This series has been a blast to read on the beach.
Do not watch the movies, they are horrible.

The Trench by Steve Alten
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Meg part two! Jonas and Terry are back, married this time. Angel, the Meg, has been locked up at the Tanaka Institute but really wants out and is making it known. I enjoyed the second novel as well as I did the first, but really felt that the megalodon was only an afterthought to keep the story going. Angel was only there to begin and tie the mission to the trench together. Still a great read and looking forward to part three.

I think I enjoyed this book? Definitely a different vibe than from the first one. This book there’s a lot of stuff that’s going on but it all came together. Benedict and Celeste were annoying, with their sayings and their quotes in different languages! Also I just wanted to punch Celeste! If someone says ‘no!’ Respect their choice. Terry’s amazing but I felt like her character was a little more subdue in this book compared to the first. Also curious to know how many megs are in the trench because honestly it made it sound like there were like 2. Read this book to prepare for the movie which I now know it’s probably going to be like nothing compared to this book.

This was shocklingly misogynistic and dumb but damn did I eat it up. Weirdly accurate biological facts about sharks? We love. Honestly the action was engrossing. But lord is it dumb.
