Das erste Buch, das ich auf Deutsch gelesen habe, und auch genossen habe
Thought provoking, and a quick read that was pretty good. But I found his depiction of women in this “dystopia” (if you could call it that) vey nasty. The girls who march and want to become soldiers get put in a category of basically “gross” and that’s extremely problematic. I get where he’s trying to go with the militarism of the youth but he could have done that without acting like women who act in any way masculine are somehow undesirable and not worthy. And also implying like they’re bad at doing anything military related.
I think his examination of morality and what happens to morality under authoritarian regimes is great. He is very clever the way he explores it and there’s a lot that the reader has to pull out for themselves. However, I personally do not agree with or like his tying of morality to God/religion.
Solid 3 stars, not a bad read for the metro ride.
