This book was terrible. The plot felt forced and I just couldn't get past the ick factor of the female main character continuing to sleep with what she thought was a student. Not to mention the constant repeated hatred toward her profession. I can't like a book when I can't like the characters. These were totally unlikable flat characters with little to no plot development.

What did I just read? And no, not in a good way.
I had high hopes for this. Like really really high. And I was disappointed. I just thought it would be a mix of romance, funny moments and some drama along the way.
But I found no romance, little funny moments and zero drama , just Melissa overreacting 99% of the book.

I didn't find any connection between the characters. It was a flat book for me - if this term does even exist-.
I almost didn't finish it, but I decided to give it a shot.
Maybe, it wasn't my thing. I just don't know...

Cute fun quick read. Lot's of humor.

As the blurb basically tells you. You have Melissa and Spence who end up meeting and hooking up on New Year's Eve. Turns out to be very hot sex. Melissa who is a high school teacher goes back for second semester of classes to run into her New Year's Eve hookup, who now appears to be a student in her school. As you can imagine she freaks out thinking she is now the new Mary Kay Letourneau and will be all over the news for her trist with a student. Now she wants nothing more than to stay away from Spence but at the same time can't forget how great their night together was. She spends a lot of time telling herself that it will never happen again and you know it is so gonna happen again.

Overall this book is full of humor. I do think the story kind of felt a bit rushed particularly the ending. I also thought that both Melissa and Spence were a bit over the top about what they thought the other was into
his drug habit/her drug dealing. He really didn't display enough of a habit to have her telling him he needed help or to turn him into the police or INS. And I did think it was odd that just because Melissa has smoked ppt that he suddenly thought she was a drug dealer. Bother were pretty big leaps.
