Tried the audiobook twice after reading how good this book is. I LOVED zodiac academy and this just didn’t do it for me. Over acted. Not enough background and world building.

The writing? Leveled up. The last 10 chapters? Got me hooked. But this book? Woefully overachieving in the word count department. Like… someone please tell the authors they can use fewer words. It’s legal. Encouraged, even. We'd still be obsessed—probably more.

I just finished this piece of art—5⭐️1🌶️. Set in the world of Solaria, this story immediately pulled me in with its heavier, deeper tone. Centered around the academy of Never keep that also gives military college vibes—the setting here is intense, cutthroat, and full of tension. The stakes are high. Every scene is packed with ire, mystery, betrayal, and that simmering sense of danger that keeps you on edge.
The romance and yearning are there, but they’re not front and center—which I actually love. The Twisted Sisters make you work for every emotional payoff, and that just pulls me deeper into the world.
After reading Zodiac Academy, which I really enjoyed the ease of that writing style. Never Keep feels a bit more refined, with a slightly elevated tone. It’s set in the same world of Solaria but tells a completely separate story with no character crossovers.
Some of the magic might be a little confusing without the Zodiac background, but it’s still an engaging read that expands the world in a fresh way.
