I loved the setting, the mysteriousness of the camp and what happened. The ending caught me off guard but I liked it.

2.5 - suuuuuper slow to start

A very satisfying YA thriller. As someone who also spent many years going to summer camp, the book really captures the intense emotions that come from those friendships and experiences. Took off a star only for the first 50pgs or so; the setting needed a lot more detail to make it clear this was a ritzy camp. And the cover is a bit misleading as there isn't really any bloodshed, but it's marketing so whatever, I get it.

With my background in working at a summer camp. This book is truly beautiful. Absolutely love it!

Now that authors have figured out that insulin can kill people, the easiest way to find the murderer is to see who was introduced as a diabetic in the first few pages.

No lie, when Jessica was writing about Goldie’s love for Camp Alpine throughout this novel she had me almost on the verge of tears. I felt like I had grown up all my life at a luxury summer came. Jessica made me feel Goldie’s love for camp, how age needed this place to be her home because life outside of it was turmoil. Like I tears up so much. Like to have your sacred place tainted. Shheeessshh. And then Heller and how he was her greatest love yet biggest villain. Like gosh that dynamic was hard. This is my second novel by Jessica and definitely my FAVE!
