The Counselors by Jessica Goodman is everything I hoped it would be! It’s the perfect young adult mystery that takes place at a summer camp in the summer (my favorite season!). While her books are what I would consider to be a “slow burn” she’s able to pack a lot into it with only 330 pages. I did have a feeling as to “who-dun-it” and why (which isn’t revealed until the end) but I enjoyed the story despite that. Normally that puts me off, but it doesn’t seem to phase me when Jessica Goodman is writing it!
If you enjoy young adult mysteries, then I not only recommend tis book but her backlist as well. I like how she takes mundane things and turns them into stories with good plots, fantastic characters, and nostalgic settings!

I am so happy with this read! This was filled with so many twists and turns and I was SHOCKED by the ending twist. I thought it was going in so many different directions and never guessed what actually was going on. Then, it hit me again. What a wild ride this was. I know I am always down for a summer camp thriller, but this was so good.

I wanted to try some YA thrillers but I had an issue with this one that I have with majority of them, it was just an average story. I liked the plot for the most part, but there was a lot of drama and things could have been solved if the characters just spoke to each other. I did enjoy the friendships in this book a lot but overall just typical book
