This one was ok, I felt like maybe I had read it before but there was enough I didn't remember to make me keep reading, so I think it was just too much of the formula in this one.
Not bad, but not my favorite of the series and the previous one was very good so that probably made it a bit more disappointing.

With the little amount of exposure the readers have had with Dickie Orr, I've always wondered what exactly Stephanie saw in him that made her want to marry him. After reading this book, I wonder even more. He's not smart, loyal, nice, or even that attractive. Joe asks her about this and I suppose her answer makes sense. Joyce plays a bigger role in this book and I don't like her any more than I did before. The only redeeming moment she has is when she saves Stephanie and tells off Dickie. I am glad that Stephanie is maintaining some loyalty to Joe, even when she is staying at RangeMan. Ranger is also showing some lines he won't cross and I like that too. The story follows a pretty standard storyline. Someone wants to kill Stephanie and she doesn't really know why or who. Despite Ranger and Joe's best efforts, Stephanie gets kidnapped. However in this one, she does save herself, though accidentally.
Like previous reviewers have said, the Stephanie Plum series is a total guilty pleasure and LMT is right along those lines. But really, does Janet claim that they are anything other than a guilty pleasure? No. The book is what I come to expect, an escape from reality and a ton of laughs.
Like always, a very fun easy and enjoyable read. I love the interactions between Ranger and Morelli now. They both pretty much make the books now.
Better than 10, 11, and 12. That's an improvement. Just not a big improvement. At times I thought I saw a glimmer of growth in Stephanie but then she'd do something stupid and we'd be back at square one.
Loved it! Although Morelli wasn't in this one nearly enough. At least this one had lots of Ranger to make up for it.
Several laugh-out-loud moments, and Stephanie still hasn't made up her mind completely. And so it goes!
